In 1964, Rickenbacker shipped its first “export” models to Rose, Morris, Ltd. Initially they carried five models; the 1995 (sold in the US as the 615), 1996 (the 325 model), 1997 (the 330 model), 1998 (the 340 model) and 1999 (the 4001 model). The 1996, 1997 & 1998 models all had “F” holes instead of the usual “cat's eye” sound holes. Initially on the 1996 model, the “F” hole was in the “2 o’clock” position. It later changed to the “1 o’clock” position.
The 1993 model was the next instrument to join the line up in July 1964. It was a 12 string version of the original style 360/12, made famous by George Harrison in “A Hard Days Night”. It had a double bound body, unbound neck with dot inlays and two toaster pickups. The early examples were equipped with a flat trapeze tailpiece. This was changed to the standard “R” tailpiece in November 1964.
Rose Morris introduced two further models in 1967. The 3261 (an “F” hole version of the 4005) featured below and the 3262 (an export version of the 336/12 convertible).
